key-mon software package provides Utility to show live keyboard and mouse status, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install key-mon
key-mon is installed in your system.
Make ensure the key-mon package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep key-mon *
You will get with key-mon package name, version, architecture and description in a table
